Sayesha, a blogger I greatly admire, has an interesting take on New Year resolutions.
I really liked her idea of condensing resolutions into a single word. This way, even when I proclaim publicly what my resolution is, the details and specifics are only known to me. I can fine tune them as and when necessary. This flexibility may actually make it possible to keep the resolution fresh all throughout the year.
So, I have decided that the underlying theme for the year 2010 in my life will be “rejuvenate”.
This is what I need to do more than anything else:
- To clear out all the cobwebs in my mind and let the sun shine bright.
- To break down the walls I have unconsciously built all around my heart/mind and allow people/ideasĀ in again.
- To get rid of the melancholy and bring cheer and joy.
- To stop brooding over the negative things and focus on all the great things that I have in my life.
- To laugh and smile more than I have been doing in the last few years.
- To stop crying over the love I lost and realise the value of the love I have.
In essence, I need to bring the spirit there once was, back into my life.
Here’s to a fulfilling, cheerful and spirited year ahead for everyone.
Wishing you good luck in pursuit of rejuvenation

Thanks G! I need it much.
“Rejuvenate” is a perfect word for you and good luck with that. As a good friend I won’t forget my duty and ask you each time I talk to you on how your rejuvenating is going on
.
I knew you would agree with my word. Will look forward to your friendly nudges.
This is one of the best “resolutions”, I have heard. Each one of us should do that. I particularly like the 4th one…..counting on our blessings….
Wish you a rejuvenating year !!!
Thanks Noorie. Wish you a wonderful year.
You are right, we all need to count our blessings more often than we do.
